Fixed (non-removable) foam polystyrene formwork for the foundation

Permanent formwork allows you to get fast and high quality results in monolithic construction.

During such construction work, expanded polystyrene is used, which has grooves for the installation of fittings, as well as for laying communications. The free space between the plates is poured with a mixture of concrete. Due to this, the monolithic structure, characterized by increased strength, comes out.

Polystyrene modules are also used to create permanent formwork for the foundation. With their help, it becomes strong and durable, and many characteristics of the material (for example, thermal insulation) are also enhanced.

The most significant advantages:

  • resistance to liquids;
  • the ability to pass air.

Expanded polystyrene is considered unique precisely because it is afraid of exposure to water.

Fill

The fill is as follows:

  • The depth of the trench should reach the level of soil freezing. Line the drainage layer of sand or gravel.
  • Polystyrene modules installed in the trench, and then use the jumper to firmly connect them.
  • The armature is fixed in special slots. Under it make the rack, which is needed for greater stability.
  • Concrete mix pour free space between the plates. Fixed such formwork is called due to the fact that after hardening of concrete its dismantling is impossible.

Benefits

  • There is no need for special equipment such as a crane or other heavy equipment. Concrete can be supplied using a special pump.
  • Installation is quick, little effort is required. Everything can be done independently without special training, having previously studied this topic.
  • The ability to obtain such characteristics of concrete, for which there is no need for additional arrangement of thermal insulation.
  • The surface will not be subject to mold and various types of fungi.
  • Polystyrene modules are not very expensive, especially if you compare them with other analogues. Using them, you can significantly save on construction.

disadvantages

The disadvantage of the permanent formwork of pipolystyrene is that when it is burned, it emits a suffocating poisonous gas that spreads very quickly through the house.

An interesting feature is that in the future for the construction of a building, you can use the same method, which will help to avoid weighting the structure.
