 Features and benefits of sliding mosquito nets

To date, mosquito nets are an essential complement to window designs. They protect the room from the entry of insects, precipitation and various dirt. Sliding mosquito nets are easy to use and functional. The features and advantages of such structures will be discussed in more detail in this article.

Specifications

Mobile anti-mosquito systems are a frame, a protective grid, a rail in the form of a bar and rollers. The frame is most often made of aluminum. Thanks to the guides and special wheels, this design can be moved to the place of any open sash window.

The location of the rollers on the frame may vary from different manufacturers, but most often they are located at the bottom of the design.The two sides of the canvas are equipped with a special nap, which provides reliable sealing when the structure is installed in place of the open sash. The grid moves along guides that resemble rails.

Such strips are installed on the upper and lower part of the window frame.

Pros and cons of designs

The use of sliding mosquito structures has several advantages. The main advantages of such products are as follows:

  • ease and convenience in use;
  • simple installation;
  • special care is not required, it will be enough to periodically wipe the structure with a damp cloth;
  • strength and durability - mobile mosquito nets are not afraid of weathering and mechanical loads;
  • such systems have a simple and at the same time aesthetic appearance - most often the frame is made in white color, but many manufacturers are ready to paint on order;
  • sliding systems will cope with the protection of open doors of absolutely any shape;
  • Remove the protective sheet before the onset of winter is not particularly difficult, as well as attach it back;
  • the grid does not interfere with the ventilation of the room and the penetration of sunlight into the room.

However, sliding mosquito systems have their drawbacks. The main disadvantages of such structures include the following disadvantages.

  • Movable canvases can be installed not on all window designs. For installation, a special metal or plastic profile is required. In addition, if there is a trim on the ceiling of the balcony, it will not be possible to install a sliding grid.
  • There are more sliding structures than ordinary removable mesh.

Kinds

Sliding mosquito systems are divided by place of installation.

  • Most often, such structures can be found on loggias and balconies of metal profiles. This type has its own technical features in the application. The design is able to move along the entire length of the balcony, which allows you to instantly put protection on any open window. The principle of operation of the mosquito net for a loggia is quite simple. The design can be moved thanks to a special strap and rollers. Installation of the product can be carried out both from the inside of the room and from the outside.
  • Another type of protective structures are mosquito nets for panoramic windows. To protect a large glass unit, conventional nets are not suitable due to the particular design. Therefore, some companies produce mobile models, which not only perfectly fulfill the function of protection, but also do not spoil the appearance of panoramic windows.

According to some design features, sliding grids are divided into two types: with guides present and with separate guides that require installation.

The difference between these types in the first place is in the method of installation.

  • Systems with existing guides are installed in place of the window sash, which is pre-dismantled. Instead of glass in this case there will be a mosquito net. This type of sliding systems has a large window frame and weight.
  • Designs with separate guides are much easier to install. Special strips are fastened to the upper and lower parts of the window frame, along which the mesh will be moved using rollers. Fixing guides can occur both from the inside and from the outside of the room.

However, for a number of reasons, it is recommended to install it inside the balcony or room, namely:

  • it will be much easier to use such a construction, since you do not have to open a window to move the grid to another place;
  • You can not remove the grid in the winter. If dismantling is still required, it will be much easier to do this than to remove the net from the outside of the balcony.

Installation

Installation of sliding mosquito systems is not particularly difficult.

  • The first step is to attach the guide rails to the top and bottom of the window frame. Fixation is carried out using a screwdriver and screws. On the established slats the grid with rollers is already placed.
  • The top guide most often plays the role of a grid lock, while moving along the bottom bar. One side of the protective cloth is equipped with a special groove, which is inserted into the mounting bar. If the frame is overlapped on top of the casing and the bottom is covered with a window sill, the installation of the sliding mosquito system will not be possible.
