It is quite easy to make a mini-smokehouse by yourself; you just need to focus on the prepared drawings, follow step-by-step instructions and take important nuances into account when carrying out such work. There are several popular methods of manufacturing such structures, and each of them has certain features.

Cold

Cold-smoked structures can be created from a variety of materials.

The following is a step-by-step instruction on how to make a smokehouse with a polyethylene coating.

  • Prepare 2 m of plastic film, it should be quite thick (it is better to choose a coating,which applies to greenhouses). Sew a sleeve of film from one end so that it eventually looks like a bag.
  • Then you will need to prepare a place for the future construction (one square meter is enough for it). Make the ground as flat as possible and fasten two-meter stakes in all its corners. Using the cross member, you will need to connect the installed elements. The construction should turn out pretty stable.
  • Connect the stakes that are opposite to each other using diagonal slats (you will need to make 2-3 rows).
  • It should be pulled on the resulting construction "bag" of polyethylene. Then pour hot coals on the pad and place green grass on them.
  • The design must be airtight, so you will need to press it down with something on the ground.

In order to constantly have thick smoke in the building, put fresh grass when the need arises. After a few hours, remove the polyethylene and allow the meat to air out. If necessary, you can smoke it again, just need to wait at least a day.

Hotter

Hot-smoked structures are most often made of metal.Stainless steel is very good for this. It is better not to choose aluminum, because products can interact with such material.

Prepare the following materials and tools:

  • two sheets of metal (dimensions - 610х1565 mm, thickness - 2 mm);
  • Bulgarian;
  • welding machine;
  • thin reinforcing bars;
  • carpentry corner;
  • meter.

The creation of hot smoked construction is carried out as follows:

  • Cut into 4 parts of one of the sheets, applying for this grinder. To make the building square, make the sheets the same.
  • Using drop welding, connect two sheets to each other. They should be positioned relative to each other strictly perpendicular. To make sure of this, use a joinery corner. Adjust the position of elements, if necessary. Then just connect the other sheets.
  • Gently boil all internal joints of the structure to make it as tight as possible.
  • Take another sheet of metal and create a bottom for the structure. Attach it to the box that was made earlier.
    • Make a smokehouse lid. Make sure that it is easy to put on the box.
    • Weld iron handles to the body. It will also be necessary to attach rods to the body, on which the pallet usually rests. On top should be rods for hooks, where the meat will hang.

    If desired, the size of the structure can be increased or decreased. The most important requirement is one: absolute tightness.

    Bucket

    Create your own smokehouse from the bucket as follows:

    • Place sawdust on the bottom of the tank (a layer of 1-2 cm will be sufficient). Set the grill at 10 cm from the bottom: there will be products on it.
    • Put a lidded bucket on the fire. Smoking should be completed before removing the cover should not be.
    • A sign that the process has begun is smoke or steam. The structure itself should not become too hot.
      • You can check the temperature using water. Put a little on the lid. If there is only hissing, not boiling, everything is fine with the temperature. The meat is not cooked, but it is well smoked.

      To create such a smokehouse to give, you need to do the following:

      • Weld stainless steel drawer. It should be relatively small, the approximate height - half a meter. Then weld the iron tube into the lid: with this element the smoke will be expelled.
      • You will need to take the hose and put it on the tube. Put it in the window.
      • Install the cover in the special sides equipped in advance.
        • To smoke out of the box, pour water into the rim.
        • Take the alder filings and place them on the bottom of the structure. Approximate layer thickness - 1-2 cm.
        • Weld the sides for the pallet. They should be approximately 10 cm from the bottom of the smokehouse. Grid for products will need to be installed in 20 cm from these sides.
        • Take the lid and cover the homemade design, fill the sides with water. Put the smokehouse on the gas stove, turn on the gas. After that, the products will begin to smoke.

        Old fridge

        Owners of sites that are located outside the city, often made of old refrigerators cabinets, where there are various important things. However, not everyone knows that from such structures get a good small smokehouse.

        Such structures are created according to a specific scheme.

        • First, remove all unnecessary things from the refrigerator; the box itself and the door should remain.
        • To build a chimney, make a hole at the top of the box.
        • Then fasten three pairs of metal angles on three different levels. They must be located on the side walls of the enclosure. The hook bars and grilles will be installed on the first two levels. The pallet will be located on the corners, which are located below.

            • Food will be smoked while sawdust is burning. It usually takes about 60 minutes.

            Meat is fully cooked when the structure is no longer hot. After that, it will be necessary to remove sawdust from products that did not have time to burn out.

            Balloon

            To create structures designed for smoking, can be used an unnecessary balloon out of propane.

            Converting it to the smokehouse is not easy, but you can easily cope with such work if you take into account all the recommendations mentioned in the instructions.

            • First you need to cut off the valve and remove the remaining propane.To do this, take the balloon away from home. To determine whether the cylinder is empty, you can use soapy water: just put it on the valve. You can get to work if there are no bubbles.
            • Gasoline residues will need to be drained from the tank. Then it should be burned.
            • Take the clean bottle home. After that, it will be possible to begin to make a construction for smoking.
              • First you need to take care of the door (its size should be quite significant). Then create a stand for the structure.
              • In the construction of the cylinder must be the furnace compartment. It is created from metal sheets (they should be quite thick). The finished combustion chamber will need to be welded to the cylinder. The result should be a single structure.
              • Before using the finished smokehouse, it is necessary to ignite it using firewood.

              Features of fuel selection

              It is necessary to pick up sawdust for the smokehouse, considering various important nuances. The appearance and taste of food depends largely on the type of wood. It is better to choose a cherry, pear, apricot, apple tree. In second place - beech, ash, alder, juniper, aspen, oak.

              Oak and mahogany can affect the color of the food (you can make the dish more interesting). In the first case, the shade will turn brownish or dark yellow, in the second - golden.

                        You should also consider the following recommendations:

                        • You should choose the size of sawdust, focusing on the recipe and features of the product itself.
                        • So that the products settle less soot, slightly wet the fuel.
