KoloVesi septic tanks: device and principle of operation

The KoloVesi Finnish wastewater treatment plant is distinguished by its European quality and high performance combined with compactness and practicality, which is so important for private property. Not surprisingly, this product is so popular in the Russian market.

Septic tank is an autonomous cleaning system, which is necessary for suburban residential buildings, where, as a rule, there is no centralized sewage system. From the productivity of such a station depends on the living conditions and comfortable living in private homes and cottages.

The main material from which such equipment is made is polypropylene. The wall thickness of the welded four-chamber tank is 8 mm,moreover, the case has an absolute tightness, is made in the form of a cylinder and is equipped with stiffeners, therefore, the increased strength is guaranteed to withstand the external load from the soil and the internal pressure of water.

Purification technology combines chemical, mechanical and biological methods. The upper part of the aerator is the neck into which the biofilter is placed. Some models are equipped with two pumps - one feeds the distilled water into the filter, the other drains the purified liquid into a storage or drainage well for irrigation and technical needs.

The aerator is located at the top of the facility; when water is loaded and distributed, it is simultaneously saturated with oxygen.

To prevent the construction from being pushed out of the ground during freezing, which is accompanied by its expansion, special lugs are provided.

The principle of operation of the equipment - deep cleaning.

1. Mechanical cleansing takes place in the septic tank receiving chamber: large-fraction organic waste is deposited on the filter, and, gradually, I decompose, eventually being washed away from it. Here is the primary cleaning with anaerobic microorganisms.
2. In the second compartment there are colonies of anaerobic bacteria. By absorbing most of the carbohydrates and fats present in the slags, the main filtration is carried out. With the growth of biomass, cleaning processes are accelerated in time, and the productivity of the station increases.
3. Thanks to the pump pumping oxygen into the third chamber, aerobic bacteria continue to oxidize the waste.
4. Final filtration and gravity-free discharge of the purified liquid is carried out in the fourth compartment. After that, it is discharged into special containers, wells, or into the soil.

Autonomous stations KoloVesi are selected individually for each house, depending on the number of people living in it and, accordingly, on the number of used sanitary ware.

The main advantages of the equipment:

• a high degree of purification (up to 98%) allows using the obtained liquid for technical purposes; it can irrigate inedible crops grown on the site;
• another product obtained after purification is fertile sludge, which is used as a fertilizer;
• autonomous purification system can be used at different levels of groundwater;
• the station operates in the sump mode even when the power supply is turned off.

Based on the number of people, it is possible to choose cleaning structures with different capacities, which will meet the basic requirements.

Today, the manufacturer produces several current models.

1. KoloVesi 3 - Compact cleaning facility, designed for 2-3 people. Dimensions - 2150х100 mm (height and diameter), capacity - 650 l. The device is installed at a depth of 60 cm, equipped with an additional pump for forced drainage.
2. KoloVesi 5 - the equipment is able to serve up to six people.It processes up to 1000 liters of waste water per day, during rush hours (in the morning and in the evening) the design is capable of making a one-time discharge of water up to 350 liters. The model has a built-in kit for forced drainage. The height of the structure is 2150 mm with a diameter of 1200 mm, the modification with a low body has a height of 1650 mm and a diameter of 1600 mm.
3. KoloVesi 8 - this septic tank is designed for a large family of up to 8-9 people, the depth of different models can vary from 60 cm to 1, 2 meters. The height of the structure is 2150 mm, diameter - 1400 mm.
4. KoloVesi 10 - the model is relevant for families of 10-11 people permanently living in the house. Single emission reaches 700 l. The modification has a cylindrical body of 2150x600 mm, the daily capacity of the system is 2000 liters.

The autonomous septic system KoloVesi is a ready-to-place product that can be installed and connected to a power source with your own hands.

The installation process involves the following steps:

• a trench of appropriate dimensions is prepared, its depth should be 25 cm less than the height of the device and 50 cm longer and wider than the base of the septic tank;
• the design is lowered onto the leveled bottom of the pit, after having provided it with a sand pillow;
• the system must be placed vertically without any tilt;
• then the voids between the walls of the trench and the building structure are filled, using cement with sand for this;
• if it is required by the groundwater level, it should be carried out fixing of the model plates;

• then the biofilter is disassembled, and a pump is installed to discharge purified water to the fourth compartment of the housing;
• the pump is connected to the nozzle of the filter aerator using a hose and hose clamps;
• the plug of the pump is passed through the structure neck;
• the filter housing is mounted back to the septic tank;
• a control block is installed near the station;
• according to the instructions, the voltage cable is connected;
• the plug of the pump is connected to the socket with a timer;
• plug the outlet of the water pump to a wall outlet without a timer.

Then you need to turn on and check the device for operation, after which it can be connected to the pipeline.

To organize self-service is simple. Once every 30 days you need to carefully inspect the sewage treatment plant.Pumping sewage sludge in the septic tank compartments should be carried out once a year, while up to 30% of the waste should be left. Pumping should be followed by filling the system with water to the required level.
