Gypsum plasterwork "Pioneers": characteristics and application

Among the many building mixes, many professionals highlight the Gypsum Plaster "Pittels". It is designed for high-quality processing of walls and ceilings in rooms with low air humidity and is characterized by excellent consumer properties in combination with an affordable price.

Mix description

The basis of plaster - gypsum. The composition also includes special mineral additives and fillers that provide high adhesion of the solution and significantly reduce its consumption. The mixture has good heat and sound insulation and is great for living rooms.

The plaster "Staratel" is also able to regulate the humidity of the air in the room. Due to its hygroscopicity, it absorbs water vapor from the air, thereby reducing the relative humidity. If the air is dry, then the moisture evaporates from the plaster and the humidity in the apartment rises. Thus, a comfortable human climate is created in the living room.

"Staratel" meets all environmental standards for residential premises, so it can be used in educational, medical and other institutions.

The solution is easy to apply and handles well. Plaster is elastic and does not crack when dry. It is intended for indoor areas with low humidity. The composition does not have water resistance, so you should not use it on objects with high air humidity and where contact with water is possible.

A mixture of "miners" can be applied on brick, concrete and other hard surfaces. In addition to interior decoration, it is used as the basis for decorative compositions and putty mass. Plaster can also fill the seams and cracks of the treated surfaces. You can also apply it in a dense layer up to seven centimeters.

After applying the "miners" you can not use putty, thereby saving a lot of time and money. Low consumption of the mixture, strength and elasticity of the resulting surface, low price - these are the main advantages of the plaster mix "miners". Plaster properties

Plaster properties

The mixture is available in paper bags weighing 30 or 15 kg. It may be white or gray, depending on the properties of the gypsum from which it was made. Sometimes a pink shade is sold. Before use, the mixture is diluted with water, and then applied to a dry, well-cleaned surface.

Technical characteristics of the mixture:

  • plaster is designed for indoor areas with low humidity;
  • the plastered surface can be used for painting, for pasting textural wallpapers, for tiles and finishing putty;
  • an average of 0.9 kg of plaster is consumed per square meter of surface;
  • the temperature range at which you can apply the mixture is from +5 to +30 degrees;
  • it is necessary to use the received solution within 45-50 minutes;
  • The thickness of the applied layer can be from 5 to 70 mm.

Before using the plaster mix, it is necessary to prepare the surface - clean it from dirt, dust, crumbling fragments of the old plaster. It is possible to put mix only on a dry surface.

If such a mixture as foam concrete, drywall, brick, and plaster is treated with a mixture, they must be primed first. Other surfaces should preferably be treated with a “Concrete Contact” primer.

Application Methods

First mix the mixture. To do this, pour it into a special container, then add water at the rate of 16-20 liters of water per package or 0.5-0.7 liters per kg of dry mix. Water for dilution of plaster need to use clean. The mixture can be mixed with a mixer, electric drill with a nozzle or manually. The solution should stand for 5 minutes. The resulting solution should be homogeneous, after settling it is mixed again. After that, you can start work.

Do not add water or dry powder to the ready mass. For 50 minutes, you must have time to use the resulting solution.

How to apply

The mixture can be applied manually or mechanically.

Manual application

To do this, use a spatula or trowel.The mixture is applied in several layers, moving the tool upwards. For the first layer, it is better to use a large gear spatula: it will provide better adhesion. After drawing the surface needs to be leveled. The thickness of the applied layers is not more than 5 cm.

Ceiling plastering, moving the spatula to itself. Put only one layer of the mixture. Grasp the solution after two hours. If the layer is more than 2 cm, then it is necessary to apply reinforcement with metal mesh. After 40 minutes, the solution sets, after which you can cut off the irregularities and wipe the surface with a spatula.

After drying the applied layer, you can prepare the surface for finishing. To do this, the plaster is moistened with water and rubbed with a float. Then a wide spatula smooth down the plaster. Smoothing after a few hours can be repeated. After this treatment, the surface can not be putty. Mechanical application

Mechanical application

Apply a gun to machine plastering, moving it from the upper left corner down and to the right. The solution is applied in strips with a length of 70 cm and a width of 7 cm. The strips must be laid overlapped with the next one. Apply plaster in a single layer.

They plaster the ceiling from left to right, starting work from the wall farthest from the window. The thickness of the layer depends on the speed of movement of the gun: the higher the speed, the thinner the layer. The recommended thickness is no more than 2 cm of mortar. The ceiling must be pre-reinforced. Subsequently, the surface is treated with a float and spatula.

It is necessary to follow the observance of safety precautions when working with “Prospectors” plaster: you must use personal protective equipment, avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, inside the body. In case of contact, rinse with plenty of water and, if necessary, seek medical advice.

  • Plaster "bark beetle". Decorative coating, suitable for exterior walls. The composition includes dolomite crumb, which creates a grooved surface pattern.Then the plastered walls are painted.
  • "Optimum". It is used for rooms with high humidity. The composition includes cement, which ensures the water resistance of the coating. It is applied to external and internal surfaces. Allowed to apply a layer thickness of up to 9 cm.

Reviews

Reviews about the plaster "Stargers" are generally positive. Buyers note the low price and low consumption of the mixture per meter surface. The mixture is easily diluted, the solution is homogeneous, without lumps.

The applied layer of plaster dries without sagging and cracks, well processed. After double treatment, the surface is smooth and does not need a putty. A small disadvantage is that the viability of the solution is about 50 minutes. But this feature is in all mixtures prepared on the basis of gypsum.
