Uniflex TechnoNIKOL: product description and specifications

Uniflex produced by TechnoNIKOL is one of the modern building waterproofing materials for protection of roofs of various construction objects and structures against moisture. Being one of the variants of euroruberoid, this material for roofing structures is a bitumen-polymer universal composition, which has found wide application in the arrangement of roofs, as well as for protection from moisture of foundations and walls of buildings and structures. According to the conducted technical tests, this material has a certificate of compliance with current regulatory documents and state standards, there is a technical sheet with a description of its technical parameters.

Composition and properties

Uniflex is a multi-layered structure. Its basis is fiberglass cloth, fiberglass or polyester film, which is applied bitumen-polymer binder layer. The latter consists of modified bitumen. Its modification is achieved by adding atactic polypropylene to the composition of the material (APP) or by adding styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) and a filler having a mineral origin in it. It is followed by a foil sheet that performs the function of protection, a layer of fine-grained or coarse dressing and a layer of polymer substance.

The purpose of the modification is to give this building material the necessary ductility, durability, fire resistance and increased strength.

The basis of the sheet of waterproofing is a biologically resistant building material used to prevent leaf rot in general. The base is treated with an astringent composition, and layers of protective slate sprinkling and a polymer film are applied on both sides of the web. The dressing may consist of coarse or fine slate.

In general, the canvas is a five-layer construction in which each of the layers has a specific purpose. Thus, the reinforced base serves to impart the necessary elasticity to the web, counteracting its destruction, and the layers, which are a mixture of polymer with modified bitumen, are designed to protect the material surface from the destructive action of moisture. The protective layer is necessary to facilitate the work in the process of laying the fabric and create a reliable adhesion to any surface in the process of gluing.

Depending on the purpose, euroroofing material is divided into several brands, each of which has its own technical characteristics.

Types and specifications

There are two main types of this material, the difference between which depends on the type of dressing and the scope of their application.

So, uniflex class "K" has a coarse dressing consisting of granulate or crushed slate. There are varieties having a coating of foil on their outer side, and equipped with a coating of polymer film on the inside of the web. This material is the top layer in the roofing "pie".It includes varieties of uniflex with markings EKP, TKP, HKP, EKV.

Uniflex type "P" It has a double-sided coating of its web, consisting of a polymer film or a fine fraction. The main direction of its application is the creation of the lower layer in the structure and waterproofing of various construction objects. These include varieties of this material with markings EPP, CCI, HSP, EPV.

The technical characteristics of both types of waterproofing uniflex "K" and "P" also have certain differences. For example, one square meter of euro ruberoid of class “P” weighs 3.85 kg, and a unit of area of ​​euro ruberoid “K” is equal to 4.95 kg by weight, which is 30% higher than that of hydro-insolant “P”. The thickness of the type “K” is 1 mm greater than the thickness of type “P”.

As for specific modifications, EKR euroruberoid has a polyester base for increasing the elongation at break. The upper and lower parts of such a base are impregnated with a mixture of bitumen with a polymer in order to increase the elasticity of the web. The material has a high plasticity, which makes it possible to work with him at low temperatures.The upper part of the canvas is covered with a sprinkling of coarse slate crumb.

Uniflex brand EKP is recommended to create the top layer in the process of installing single or double-layer roofing surfaces.

EPP-uniflex is a vapor-insulating waterproofing based on polyester base, on which a bituminous synthetic rubber-modified coating is applied, mixed with a polymer. This coating is applied on both sides of the web. The upper and lower sides of the web are coated with a fused polymer film. This waterproofing is one of the most durable types of euroruberoid, its elongation at break reaches 60%.

This material also incorporates the bitumen modified by artificial rubber, and has a thickened bonding layer located on the weld side. The duration of the guaranteed operational life of the EPP-Uniflex is 20-25 years, and it can be used at temperatures up to -30 degrees Celsius. The most appropriate is the use of brand EPP as the bottom layer for the deposited two-layer roofing surfaces.

Reinforcing basis of waterproofing material TPP is fiberglass.It is impregnated with a binder mixture of bitumen with a polymer. The cloth of the uniforms of the brand of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry is covered on two sides with a polymer film. This building material is intended for moisture protection of underground and above-ground construction objects as the bottom layer of a multi-layer roofing sheet.

TCH-uniflex differs from other brands of euroroofing material in that its reinforcing base consists of a frame glass billet having a high coefficient of tensile strength in any direction and for this reason has special strength properties. The upper surface of this coating consists of coarse slate.

Waterproofing construction material brand HSP is one of the least expensive types of euroruberoid. Its relatively low cost is explained by the presence in its composition of a solid, non-rotting fiberglass base. The protective layer of euroroofing material of this brand consists of melted polymer film. Uniflex brand HPP serves as the bottom row of a multi-layered roofing carpet.

Scope of application

Uniflex of almost any brand among the listed above varieties of this roofing waterproofing material can be operated in a variety of climatic conditions.Due to the presence in its composition of modifying SBS-additives for bitumen, its fabric gets a special elasticity and can be used at ambient temperatures of -40 degrees Celsius.

The inclusion of a modifier on the basis of the APP in the composition of this waterproofing imparts the strength necessary for use in conditions of elevated temperatures, since it is known that the softening of such a material begins at temperatures above +150 degrees Celsius. As mentioned earlier, the life of such a material with a reduced coefficient of vapor permeability is about 20-25 years.

As for the aspect of using uniflex, it fits equally well on surfaces with different angles of inclination and is mounted on both vertical and horizontal planes. With the help of euroroofing material, the roofing repair works are carried out effectively, and a waterproofing surface is created with a high level of reliability during the construction of tunnels or bridge structures.

Installation of euroroofing material is carried out in a short time and does not require the use of specialized technological devices and sophisticated equipment,since the technical meaning of the laying process itself is to heat the bottom layer of the waterproofing with a gas burner to the melted state.

Storing and transporting the rolls of the uniflex, which at the same time it is recommended to have two rows in height in an upright position, is not particularly difficult. A horizontal position is allowed only for one row of material in case of special need. This material should be stored in special containers or on special pallets, using dry storage for this purpose. Direct ultraviolet light is detrimental to euroruberoid. This circumstance should be taken into account when creating conditions for its storage, saving the material from direct sunlight.
