The style of modern interior allows you to enter into it different shades of flooring. One of the most controversial design elements is black linoleum. Despite the apparent gloom, this shade is popular: black linoleum in the interior looks elegant, has several features and advantages, favorably emphasizes the special taste of the owners of the house.

• in a tiled version, it can be complemented by color contrasts, creating an original mosaic to match the interior composition;

With a lot of advantages, black linoleum has several disadvantages. Is he:

• deprives the room of light, therefore it is appropriate only in rooms with sufficient illumination;
• often adds to the space a sense of gravity, which leads to the need for careful selection of each element of the situation, including lighting;
• it does not welcome the abundance of small details of the interior, therefore it is limited in the styles of chaos (for example, kitsch, avant-garde, boho), but it is appropriate in the classics and minimalism (modern, classicism);

• needs support through small design elements, otherwise it pulls all the attention on itself, reducing the height of the ceiling;
• It is ideally combined with soft and light shades of the color palette, however, it does not stand up to sharp contrasts (for example, with red it irritates, with orange it looks ridiculous);
• can not be used in the bedroom and nursery, because, regardless of the softness and dilution of the shade, it does not tune to the atmosphere;
• not suitable for flooring in small rooms, visually reduces the room.

Regardless of the type of production, black linoleum is classified according to several criteria.

By appointment, he is:

• household - budget option with a minimum protective layer;
• semi-commercial - the middle between simple and elite materials;
• commercial - premium view with maximum protection.

The differences between them lie in the thickness of the protective layer (in commerce, it reaches 1 mm) and thickness (commercial coatings are the thinnest).
