Varieties of stationary grills

No modern cottage is complete without a brazier. Near him going to the company of friends. Everyone wants to try baked, healthy and tasty dishes. The house master is quite capable of independently installing a stationary type brazier. It is only necessary to select the material from which the roaster will be made, and study the instructions for installing it.

Production of metal stationary barbecue

  • You need to take a sheet of iron and mark it with chalk. The markup must comply with the drawing plan.
  • With the help of jigsaw, hacksaws or grinders to cut the bottom and sides of the future brazier.
  • At the bottom of each wall around the perimeter you need to drill the same holes. This is necessary in order to get better air, and the coals flared faster.The bottom should also be perforated using an angle grinder for better circulation of air masses.
  • In the walls of the grill make grinders notches for laying skewers. They should be symmetrical to the holes on the opposite side. The distance between them should be the same.
  • Assemble the sides and bottom of the barbecue and cook in the shape of a rectangular box. This is the main part of the brazier. The seams formed after welding works need to be smoothed. Make it a grinder. After that, they become smooth and neat.
  • The brazier legs are made of reinforcement bar or steel corners, which are welded to the corners of the structure. If you have the opportunity and desire, you can make the legs unscrew. To do this, to the bottom, to each corner, you need to weld a nut, and make a thread on the reinforcing bar. The diameters of the nuts and fittings must be completely the same. With the end of the season, the legs can be unscrewed and removed.

Cast iron barbecue will look best on the street. It can be easily made by hand, but its optimal thickness must be selected.

Barbecue finish

The use of paints is unacceptable, since at high temperatures, they will begin to burst, peel, smell unpleasant. There is a risk of meat absorbing hazardous chemicals.

At the moment, manufacturers of paints and varnishes have created special coatings for barbecues, which are absolutely safe. They do not harm cooked on the grill, vegetables and meat dishes. But still, there is always the risk of damage to the coating, since the heat inside the structure has a very high temperature. Therefore, it is better to use heat-resistant coatings for finishing.

Types of heat-resistant coatings:

  • Enamel based on organosilicon compounds. It withstands temperatures up to + 600 ° C.
  • Powder heat-resistant paints are ideal for making the brazier aesthetic appearance, but they are very difficult to use and apply.
  • You can burn the brazier yourself at home. The prepared product box is treated with sulfuric acid (5% solution), boiled in a solution of lye, then cooked for two hours in a sodium solution. After all these rather complicated manipulations, a non-stick coating is obtained on the grill, which will prevent the occurrence of corrosion.

You can not call this method completely safe, because it uses a chemical acid and alkali.

Brazier made of brick

To create a similar structure, you first need to make a drawing, select a location and calculate how much building materials will be needed.

The choice of location is the most important step. Theoretically, it is possible to install a brazier inside the building, but for security purposes it is better to take it outside the house. It is necessary to take into account the landscape of the site, the style of the house, so that the brazier fits perfectly. The choice of the site determines the technical features of the design, its size, shape and the presence of additional boxes for coals. All this should be fixed on the drawing.

Criteria for choosing a place.

  • Smooth surface. It is better to build a structure in a prepared area covered with fire-resistant bricks. The territory is usually located near the terrace, for example, in a place for leisure activities.
  • Be sure to take into account the wind rose, so that the smoke does not go in the direction of people or neighbors. The best thing to do so that the smoke goes up.
  • Brazier is better located near the holiday home or place of rest.

No need to load the plot with buildings. One barbecue, benches and gazebos will be quite enough.

    A stationary brick grill is not just a rectangular box. It must have a chimney. Inside it can be placed shelves for grilling. Some types of barbecues include an oven, a smokehouse. Such multi-functional products will help to prepare a varied number of dishes. You can put the sink and lead water pipes to the roaster.

    It often happens that over time various elements start to be added to a simple brick building: compartments for storing skewers, dishes, and coal. All components do not have a common style. In order for everything to look perfect and work well, you need to immediately think through all the elements at the drawing stage.

    Materials:

    • cement mortar;
    • lime;
    • reinforcing mesh and reinforcing rods;
    • sand and wire;
    • metal corners;
    • fire resistant brick;
    • stainless steel plate to protect the chimney.

    Instruments:

    • metal spatula;
    • pickaxe;
    • bucket;
    • shovel;
    • plumb and level.

    For the arrangement of the foundation and the construction of walls to use a special furnace stone is impractical. Red brick perfectly cope with this task. The furnace chamber should be protected by a metal box. This will extend the life of the brick. The table top can be made of ceramic tiles.

    Solutions of different types are used for pouring the foundation and for laying. Mason mortar is more elastic and fire resistant. There are specialized mixtures on the building materials market that are not afraid of high temperatures.

    At first they prepare the foundation for which they dig a trench about half a meter, fill it with rubble stone and rubble, put up a formwork. Prepare a cement mixture (1: 3) and pour it reinforcing mesh. This is done in layers, the iron should not lie on the bottom. Under the conditions of a shallow trench and flat walls, the formwork can not be put. From above everything is covered with roofing material or thick film.

    The time of complete solidification of the foundation is about two weeks. After that you can start laying bricks.

    Masonry mortar

    To prepare it, you will need the following materials: cement, lime and sand. Add water to the dry mixture, bring to the desired thickness and mix thoroughly.

    Construction of the barbecue

    • The base can be made in a variety of styles. The initial row of bricks is advised to lay dry. Fireclay bricks have a large indicator of water absorption, so you need to moisten it before working.This will avoid unforeseen situations. The laying should be carried out accurately according to the developed sketch.
    • The design of the future barbecue should be sustainable. To do this, begin to put the second row of bricks from the corners, gradually filling them with partitions. The brick is put in a checkerboard pattern.
    • It is advisable to know how to stack each row of bricks. Then it will be easier to imagine the alignment of the mangal. Each owner decides for himself how wide and long the structure will be.
    • The construction level and plummet are the first assistants in checking the plane of the structure. They help avoid skewing. Need to use tools every three rows.
    • The most difficult and crucial stage is the laying of the roaster. At its base, you need to place the fittings and metal corners between two opposite sides.
    • The furnace is ordered from metal of high density. To improve its work, it is advised to leave a couple of holes free from masonry mix. Air will pass through them and the fire will flare up stronger. If you place the bricks at different levels, you can arrange a place for a metal grid.
    • Further, walls and a smoke collector are erected, which will accumulate flue gases and divert them to the chimney. The pipe rests on supporting columns and tapers upwards.

    The final stage

    When all the work on the construction of a stationary brick grill is completely finished, you can begin to use it.

    There are some more tips about its appearance:

    • additional storage compartments can be made;
    • to elevate the appearance, applying a decorative finish;
    • protect against precipitation by building a roof that can be made from different materials.
    • combine the design of the roof with the house.

    The best option is a stationary gazebo with barbecue facilities. It can be either metal or brick. The furnace tube will go through the roof. Arbor is universal. In one side you can receive guests, in the other to cook.

    It should be remembered that in advance you need to take care of the place for storing firewood. For this, a wall is installed on which the fireplace accessories will hang and firewood will lie. It is necessary to equip a workplace for cooking and placing kitchen utensils.

    Brazier is a great place near which large groups of friends and relatives will gather. The better it is equipped, the more pleasure it will be possible to get from cooking meat, fish or vegetables. This is a complex structure, the construction of which must be taken seriously. Take into account many factors and conditions. The brazier will become not only decoration of your site, but also will please you and your friends.
