Brazier, located indoors, is usually supplemented with a special chimney system. It consists of a chimney and a cap. In addition, one of the components of such a system is a hydraulic filter.

Special hydraulic filters are usually installed in the braziers of restaurants, cafes or bars. It is in such establishments that meat is often cooked on charcoal, and a filter is necessary for good ventilation. Such a system is also useful for other rooms, where, for example, barbecue is prepared on weekends.

The main task of water filters is the purification of air from:

• sparks;
• fat;
• products that form a solid form of not fully combustible fuel;
• the smallest dispersed particles.

Sparks and grease are the most harmful elements to the chimney.

Hydrofilters are manufactured by specialized production workshops that have certain certificates. You can make such a device with your own hands, but you can install a home-made water filter only with the consent of the relevant authorities.

Water filters for brazier can have various elements located inside the case. The list of components depends on the manufacturer. And yet most of the models are similar in structure.

Typically, the design of hydraulic filters consists of:

• welded geometric body made of flame resistant stainless metal;
• water spray systems;
• mesh spark filter;
• labyrinth grease filtration (usually these products are made from stainless metals,which allows to increase the operating period and make the filter work of the highest quality);

• systems for separating smoke from liquid;
• valve supplying ordinary water;
• pressure sensors;
• couplings designed to drain contaminated fluid.

Integrated system with hydrofilter can be installed on the chimney itself, while the latter can be of any cross section (round or square). Manufacturers are trying to take care of the comfortable connection of the hydraulic filter to the chimney pipes. Often this type of care can manifest itself in the form of equipping the device with special flange joints, which are made of stainless steel. For the source material, meanwhile, a 3-mm thick corner is taken.

The electric drive is specially set up so that it starts working together with the ventilation fan. At the same time, the valve opens, supplying water.

There are two main types of devices:

• labyrinth;

Hydrofilters usually receive air heated to 90-180º. Initially, the air mass accumulates in the chimney cap, while part of it begins to pass through the chimney. When smoke enters, various processes begin.

Initially, the heated air mass is directed through the mixing chamber. Under pressure of 2 bars, water begins to flow. Then the water begins to flow through the full-cone type of nozzles. This is how water is sprayed through the mixing chamber. As a result, the hot air flow, irrigated, begins to moisten and becomes cooler.

Then the air enters the section, which is filled with a mesh sparking filter. The elimination of fatty particles occurs with the passage of moist smoke through the chamber, which is filled with a grease-labyrinth filter.

The process then involves a section of steam with lime to suppress smoke. In the moisture separator section, movement begins to occur. Separate fluid that has absorbed impurities is discharged directly through the valve. Drain occurs in the sewer system. Purified from contaminated components cooled air passes further along the chimney itself or through ventilation.

Hydraulic filters are usually installed horizontally. The device is placed on the wall, on the floor or under the ceiling itself. For mounting on the wall are specialized fixing brackets. If you need to install a hydraulic filter under the ceiling, you may need mounting rails and special studs. In this case, the slats are fixed horizontally. Then they put the hydraulic filter itself.

As for the floor installation, in this case it is necessary to use a power frame. A smoke-clearing device will be installed on this frame. It is better not to install water filters directly on the floor.

An important feature of the functioning of the water filter is to reduce the thrust, that is, the creation of resistance for the fan.This resistance is usually equal to 300 Pa. Accordingly, when installing hydrofilter systems, it is necessary to pay attention to the supply of rooms with powerful fans.

Choosing a hydraulic filter, you should focus on the budget that you are ready to allocate for the purchase, as well as the working conditions of the kitchen equipment. It is necessary to determine what features the device you need.

The cost of the filter will depend on its functionality. Some models provide full process automation. Starting provides air flow, polluted water from the filter itself is drained at the end of work or after a set time. The water filter is also automatically filled when the level sensor gives a signal. It is possible to observe the operation of the water filter by the installed sound or light indication.

The unit controls:

• temperature of incoming and outgoing air flows;
• temperature and water level;
• operation of the pump and valves responsible for draining and filling with water.

From the correct use of the filter will depend on the quality of work and durability of the device.

There is a list of necessary maintenance conditions:

• water replacement and leakage inspection should be carried out once a day;
• Flushing the filter itself (as well as flushing the level sensor) should be carried out as it is contaminated, but at least once a month.

Only when performing the above operations, all the hydraulic filter units will work for a long time and efficiently. It is worth remembering that the maintenance and washing is performed only after turning off the power supply.
