Buderus Radiators: Product Overview and Installation Tips

In order to always be warm and comfortable in your house, you should take care of the correct installation of the heating system. And the most important step will be the selection of a suitable radiator. On the modern market a large range of similar structures. Consider the features of the radiators of the German company Buderus Logatrend.

Design features

Buderus radiators are used in one- and two-pipe heating systems with forced circulation. Depending on the type of connection, they are side and bottom with a built-in thermal valve.

Consider each model in more detail.

  • Side (K-profile). The design of the radiator of this type implies the presence of 4 holes on the sides with a female thread 1/2. The distance between the axles is the height of the radiator without 50 mm.
  • Lower (VK-profile).There are 2 holes with external thread 3/4. The distance between the axes is 50 mm.

The design of the radiators of this brand is based on steel panels.in which there are special holes formed by horizontal connecting channels and vertical collectors. When creating this equipment, roller welding is used, as a result of which panels appear connected by continuous panels. This ensures high reliability of the radiator (most other companies use spot welding). And to increase the heat transfer between the panels are mounted convection rows.

All factory radiators are painted white, but by request of a client it is possible to manufacture equipment of any color that is presented in the company catalog.

Before painting, a primer is applied to the surface, and then a paint and varnish coating, which is treated using the method of hot drying. The result is a quality coating that is resistant to mechanical damage, scratches and chips. It is also suitable for rooms with high humidity.

Each model of the German brand radiator is equipped with a removable decorative perforated panel. Thanks to it the internal panel is convenient for cleaning. Also, some models do not have convection plates in their design; instead, they are equipped with removable grates. This design is easy to disinfect, which means that the equipment can be used in rooms with high demands for cleanliness, for example, in medical offices.

Types and specifications

The parameters of Buderus heating radiators differ depending on their types. Consider the main ones.

Type 10

The design of this type of device does not imply the presence of a convector, side walls and grill for air passage.

It has the following characteristics:

  • height - from 300 to 900 mm;
  • length - 245–845 mm;
  • center distance - 400–1600 (step - 100 mm), 1800–3000 (step - 200 mm);
  • width - 50 mm;
  • coolant volume - 1.7; 2.1; 2.6; 3.1; 4.1 l / m;
  • weight - 7.6; 9.6; 12.1; 14.5; 20.6 kg

Type 11

The Buderus 11 type radiator is a single-row heater with a single convector welded to the back of the panel, with an upper air outlet grille and side walls. Its height, length and width are the same as those of the previous type.

The remaining parameters are different:

  • center distance - 400–1600 (step - 100 mm), 1800–2000 (step - 200 mm);
  • width - 68 mm;
  • coolant volume - 1.7; 2.1; 2.6; 3.1; 4.1 l / m;
  • weight - 8.6; 11.5; 14.6; 17.6; 25.5 kg.

Type 20

This is a two-row device without a convector, but with side walls and grille. Height, center distance, thermal head, the length and volume of the coolant it is the same as that of type 11.

But at the same time:

  • width - 70 mm;
  • weight - 11.55; 15.34; 19.18; 22.99; 35.15 kg.

Type 21

The convector of this double-row radiator with grille and side walls is between the panels.

All parameters are the same with type 10, except:

  • width - 70 mm;
  • coolant volume - 3.4; 4.3; 5.2; 6.2; 8.2 l / m;
  • weight - 15.8; 20.8; 25.9; 30.74 46.1 lbs.

Type 22

This type is also a two-row appliance with 2 convectors between the panels, side walls and an air grid. Its weight is from 17.2 to 51 kg, and the volume of coolant is from 3.4 to 8.2 l / m. More detailed characteristics of the devices can be found in the table, which is in the product data sheet.

Type 33

Unlike the others, this radiator is three-row with 3 convectors between the panels and the side walls. Its weight is: 25.6; 33.4; 39.8; 50.5; 75.9 kg, and the volume of coolant - 5.1; 6.4; 7.8; 9.3; 12.3 l / m

Popular models

The radiators of the German brand Buderus are divided into 2 most popular models, judging by the customer reviews: Logatrend K-Profil and VK-Profil. They differ in power and size.But both radiators are characterized by high heat transfer rates along with minimal heat conduction inertia. This feature allows you to quickly adjust the temperature of the space using different methods: by setting the boiler flow temperature, as well as using manual and automatic thermostats installed on batteries.

Types of models differ in depth, number and size of convection rows, water conducting panels, height, and also thermal power. Possible working pressure, which may be in convectors, should not exceed 10–13 bar. The temperature of the heating element should be from 5 to 120 degrees, and the optimum amount of pH - 9-10,5.

Installation rules

Before you start installing the device, you need to find a suitable place for this. The distance between the wall and the convector depends on the design of the brackets.

Installation of floor and wall radiators is carried out only after finishing works are carried out in the house.

The easiest way to connect equipment includes the following steps:

  • making holes for brackets;
  • mounting brackets with screws with dowels;
  • unpacking at the junction of the device and the heat pipe;
  • height adjustment brackets;
  • installation of radiators on the bottom shelf brackets and fixing in the top;
  • connection of the convector to the heat conductor;
  • installation of air vent.

Buderus Logatrend heating devices after manufacturing are packed in protective shrink film with special corners. This is necessary in order to prevent damage to the equipment during transportation, storage and installation. It is recommended to remove this film only after the installation of the panel heating system is completed. This prevents contamination of the radiator surface.
