How to hide the gas boiler in the kitchen?

The heating boiler, if it does not fit into the overall interior of the kitchen, can be hidden. But not all methods are suitable for this. For example, in a kitchen set it can be installed only if the dimensions of one of the cabinets coincide with the design of the boiler. If there is no such possibility, you will have to look for other methods of disguise.

Before you talk about how to hide the boiler, you need to know what rules and regulations exist in relation to its installation. If you do not follow them, everything can end very sadly. The first thing you should pay attention to is the space in which the installation will be carried out: its size should be at least 4 m2, and the height should be more than 2.5 m. But you should also take care to install a special device that can alert you in case there is a gas leak.

When purchasing a boiler, one should take into account that its capacity should not exceed 60 kW. Installation of equipment can be carried out on a wall or prepared floor. It is impossible to place the system tightly near the cabinets, since there must be free space for good air circulation. Please note that if your house has hardwood floors, the wall, which is allotted for installation, must be covered with a sheet of metal.

What other rules should be observed:

• the distance to the cooker or refrigerator should be at least 30 cm;
• from the meter, the unit must be placed in the range of 1.6 m or more;
• the socket intended for boiler operation must be placed 1 m from the installation.

As soon as everything is installed, and communications are connected, experts strongly recommend once again to check the performance of the chimney. Safe operation of the device directly depends on this.

So, after the owners purchased a new boiler, installation of the equipment begins. Most often, the standard unit of white color adversely affects the appearance of the interior, so the owners think about how to fit it into the overall design.

So, the design of the corner where the boiler will be installed, you need to organize even before the heater is installed.

Of course, the best solution would be to install in a special cabinet, which will be made in accordance with the design of the rest of the headset. But it can also be installed specially prepared metal frame, which will cost plasterboard. Inside this niche is hung the boiler, and at last the door is installed on it, which will also repeat the appearance of the kitchen furniture. There is the option of finishing the front panel of the boiler. It can be painted or decorated with self-adhesive. And the simplest solution would be to place the boiler somewhere behind one of the sides of the headset, this is suitable if the color of the heater matches the furniture.

All design decisions should be made prior to installation of the boiler. In addition, you need to take care in advance about the choice of facing communications. To discuss the required dimensions of furniture, and pay special attention to the dimensions of the place where the cabinet will be located.

In the event that the boiler was purchased after the kitchen set has already been installed, and it cannot be hidden, it is possible to hide it behind an independently made door. In order to make a closet, you will need slats made of wood and chipboard. As tools you may need: a tape measure, various bolts, a cutter, awnings, and a ready-made door that looks like a kitchen set.

Before you start creating the locker, you will need to very accurately calculate the design parameters. Please note that the minimum distance from the boiler to each of the walls will be 3 cm. Accordingly, calculating the width and height, you will need to add 6 cm to the dimensions of the boiler. Having obtained the required parameters, you can select the door of the desired size.

Now you can get to work.

1. For a start from the chipboard we make the side walls of the future cabinet. Most conveniently this will be done with an electric jigsaw. Pay attention to the depth, it should be 3 cm more than the depth of the gas boiler.
2. At the bottom of one of the walls we make holes that will help connect the communication to the boiler. At the top you will need to make another hole, it will be needed for the chimney.
3. We make special openings on the right and left sides that will be required for sheds.
4. Watching the perpendicularity, the entire structure must be assembled and fastened with bolts. The back wall should not be, instead of it attach a few slats.
5. Fasten the cabinet door on the prepared awnings. The finished structure can be placed on the boiler and hung on the wall.

You can close the boiler not only using chipboard, but also using drywall. This method is similar to the previous one, only here drywall will be used as a basis, which will be hung on the boiler.

To carry out this work will require:

• metal profiles;
• GCR plates;
• facade of the headset;
• hinges for door installation;
• self-tapping screws;
• screwdriver or screwdriver.

Now that you have all the necessary materials at hand, you can begin the design process.

The technology is simple:

• in a parallel arrangement from the walls of the boiler, departing about 4 cm, we construct a profile frame;
• all metal elements are fastened using screws and placed on the wall;
• cut out sheets of the required size from drywall and mount them on the already assembled frame;
• We create several recesses in one of the installed walls in order to place the hinges in them, which, in turn, must be bolted to the profile.

After that you can put the boiler. The last thing that needs to be done is to hold the door overhang.

You can hide a gas boiler in the kitchen not only in a cupboard, there are ideas that, as you have seen, will help you beat this installation for individual heating in an apartment in the most profitable way.

In addition to the method that was discussed above, there are a number of the most simple ones that allow you to decorate the surface of the boiler so that it fits to another furniture design.

There are several recommendations regarding these methods:

• if the work will be carried out with the facade of the boiler, then the film must be chosen so that its differences with the rest of the headset are kept to a minimum;
• the work should be done very carefully so that bubbles do not appear, pasting should start from the top, and each subsequent centimeter should be carefully smoothed out;
• when the work is finished, all protruding excess film can be cut using a clerical knife.

Of course, this design has a number of obvious flaws.

These include:

• difficult selection of the film, since it is not always possible to find that shade and pattern that would correspond to the headset;
• such coverage will not last for a long time;
• very often this finish leads to a loss of service warranty.

Sometimes you can find painted boilers. But this approach is chosen except in relation to the old models of the Soviet type, which have long been hanging in the room. The new model is unlikely anyone decides to arrange this way.

If the owner decided to paint, you will need to do the following:

• the surface of the boiler must be cleaned and degreased using white spirit, note that already at this stage you lose the warranty on the maintenance of the boiler;
• since the housings of these thermal units are made of metal, it is better to purchase nitro enamel for painting,painting itself can be done in any convenient way.

Most often, if the kitchen design has already been developed, a new boiler is hung on the side of the headset. Even if its design will be different, it will still be able to approach the already formed environment. If the unit is made in white, and the headset is different, but it has white elements, then the idea can be very successful.

When the issue related to the masking of the boiler is resolved, the following problem arises, related to the design or concealment of water and gas pipes that go to the boiler. The massive chimney as well as hoses that go to the heating systems will not please the eye.

Please note that in no case should all these elements be mounted to the wall, as they should be freely available if it is required.

The most popular method of masking is the use of drywall boxes, which are assembled from metal profiles. The finished version of this concealment can be decorated with tiles or decorated with wallpaper. If you plan to use this method, then you must purchase moisture resistant gypsum board.

As for gas pipes, they can be hidden behind kitchen furniture, but keep distance.

This method may not be suitable for those who have pipes placed at a height of 1 m from the floor, but in this case they can be used as a towel rack. To do this, you need to prepare the pipe: remove rust and paint. After the material dries, the pipes can become an excellent support not only for towels, but also napkins and tacks.

Some have corner pipes in the kitchen. As for them, then decorate them with the help of lockers or drywall boxes will not work. The only thing that can be done is to hide them with the help of artificial plants, fruits, or paint them with the advising paint.
