Scraping the floorboard allows you to return the wooden / parquet floor to its previous form, update it and restore it. This process is multi-step, long and complex. Its essence lies in removing the thin top layer of the coating and further sanding the floor. The scraping is used not only to restore the old coating, but also to process the new one. A newly laid floor needs to be leveled or at least polished. It is rare when repairs in an apartment go without a cycle.

When and why it is possible to carry out a cycleback - questions that will have to figure out before starting work.

There are a number of factors that create the need for such work:

• Peeling paint, changing its color and saturation.

• The appearance of scratches, due to which the appearance of the floor deteriorates.

• Various kinds of pollution that are not removed by washing and cleaning. It may be strips from shoes, trampled places.

• The lack of waterproofing and high humidity on the side of the base - such conditions are completely unsuitable for the use of parquet, so the processing cycle is meaningless.

• The presence of mold, pathogenic organisms, putrefactive processes - the renewal of the parquet in these cases should not be carried out, because the parquet needs to be replaced with special treatment.

In order to carry out the restoration work, a cycling installation is first necessary. It costs a lot, because for a one-time work, such a purchase will not be rational. The essence of the preparation is as follows:

• in the absence of significant defects on the wooden floor covering, it is necessary to deepen the fasteners of the slats, to remove serious dirt and to wash the floor.

Not always the parquet floor has a satisfactory condition that would allow only a minor preparation. Often the old floorboard is in poor condition. Such coverage can be restored, but will require a lot of preparatory work.

The process of elimination of defects depends on the problems:

• Dips in the slats require the replacement of individual elements. After removing the old strip, the vacated space is cleaned and the new element is laid. For fixing, you can use a special glue.

• The lag of the plank is eliminated by fixing it with nails, which need to be deepened into a tree by 2 mm. In the case of hidden fixation of boards, it will be necessary to pour glue from a syringe under the bar. Planck is pressed to the base and fixed in this position until the full drying of the adhesive composition.

• The creaking results from the drying out and the natural aging process of the tree. In this case, the restoration of the parquet will consist in fastening the boards with nails located in the corners. You can use the pins, smearing them with pre-glue.

• The gap can be filled with thin pieces of wood, smeared with glue. Further, we wait for the glue to dry and remove the projecting part of the workpiece with a plane. You can also get rid of the cracks with putty. It will take a lot, and even cracks may appear after drying.

You can even restore the flooring with rough and substantial defects.

This process can be implemented in two ways:

• Manual scraping requires a lot of time and effort. This method is rarely used to treat the entire floor.But for corners and other hard-to-reach places there is no more convenient device. The cycle should advance along the fiber with little pressure. If you spray water on the floor, the process will be faster. In the process, you need to follow the issued chips. Wood flour indicates a dull cycle. Large chips indicate a modified angle of inclination. Manual method is cheaper, but more difficult, so it is usually used for small areas.

• Machine mode saves time, but not money. Such installations produce a lot of dust, the assembly bag is not effective enough. But the coating is perfect.

In the process of grinding, you can remove scratches and improve the quality of the coating. Processing begins with paper number 40. Gradually sandpaper decreases. This approach allows you to update the floor as much as possible, to remove all scratches down to the smallest and most minor ones. It is better to work with a three-disk flat tape-type installation.

Work should be multi-stage. It is necessary to grind diagonally and parallel to the walls. If the parquet is laid in a mosaic or artistic way, the installation should be directed in a spiral, inside the room. From this approach, the board will not be damaged and corrupted.After each pass, you will need to change the position of the machine to half the width of the drum / tape. The far corner is processed first. You also need to focus on the position of the fibers of the tree - the movement should be directed along relative to their location.

After completion of work on the main area, it is possible to engage in the processing of hard-to-reach areas. Here you need to use the manual method of scraping or use an angle grinder, which is also called a boot. It is necessary to move in a pendulum manner.

After completing the scraping and grinding, it is imperative to apply a protective and decorative layer. But first you need to thoroughly clean the surface and prime. Application of the primer will create an additional protective layer and reduce the ability of the tree to absorb lacquer. Hardwoods covered in primer will not give in to the formation of blue, which may be caused by varnish coating.

Varnish is applied to the floor in several stages. Each layer should be lightly sanded and cleaned. Only then can you re-varnish.

The rules of caring for him are simple, their observance will not cost you anything:

• Humidity should always be kept at an optimum level. To do this, you can install an aquarium or an automatic humidifier in the room.

• Any small abrasive is not allowed on the floor. First of all it concerns sand, which is brought from the street. The solution may be a mat that will collect dirt and sand from the sole.

• Ultraviolet adversely affects the condition of the floorboard. To protect the floor from such a negative factor on the windows you need to place the blinds / curtains.

• Legs from furniture cause serious damage to the floor. They leave deep scratches that are difficult to clean. To prevent such a situation, it is necessary to glue felt pads on the legs.
