Focus Floor floorboard: advantages and disadvantages

Focus Floor floorboard is manufactured at the production facilities of the Karelia-Upofloor plant. This is a subsidiary of Kahrs-Karelia-Upofloor from Finland in Russia, which is engaged in the production of flooring from natural wood.

The products of this company are valued by professionals and consumers for durability, durability and unique appearance, that is why it is used in the “Housing problem” TV program.

Special features

A special feature of this floorboard is that it is made from environmentally friendly materials: in the production they use unprocessed wood from the forests of Karelia and do not use any chemicals that are harmful to humans and the environment.Focus Floor parquet is mainly made of oak and ash, and there is a single-sided option and a three-way floorboard option to choose from.

The coating also differs, which can be natural oil, varnish and wax. The surface is possible matte, glossy or satin. The end insert made of plywood, where the lock is cut, provides greater accuracy of joining the parquet strips to each other. This is an important detail, as most of the collection comes without chamfer.

The stores are covered with three layers:

  • Decorative or facial, made of oak or ash.
  • Base, resistant to moisture and temperature layer of birch plywood. Such plywood is produced according to the technology patented by the manufacturer.
  • The lower cushioning layer of conifers, in particular, pine.

Variety of colors

Focus Floor floorboard is available for customers with a wide variety of colors. In the shops you can find different variations of any natural color: from almost white to almost black.

There are options for the colors of classic oak and classic ash.

Advantages and disadvantages

The advantages of using Focus Floor parquet are enough to use Karelia-Upofloor products as floor coverings:

  • An important advantage of this parquet is the low price in comparison with European manufacturers. This is due to the fact that the production is located on the territory of Russia, so the logistics does not require as many expenses as the delivery from Germany, Switzerland or Austria. The relatively low price should not scare off buyers - this price is ensured by the company's low transport logistics costs and marketing, and the Focus Floor board itself meets the highest quality standards for outdoor materials.
  • Also, a pleasant price is caused by such technological features as the use of mixed cutting and the absence of expensive treatments, which do not greatly affect the appearance and performance, but much more expensive in price.
  • Durable top layer, which is achievable through the use of technology in the production of hardening oil or varnish up to seven layers. The special strength achieved by ultraviolet curing is not subject to household stresses, such as pressure, furniture movement and others.
  • The construction board is made with the reinforcement of the end face with birch wedges. A Karelian tree is used, distinguished among others by resistance to deformation.
  • A simple 2G locking system, thanks to which the floors can be laid without special skills. You only need to familiarize yourself with the step-by-step instructions to follow the instructions in it exactly.
  • In the production of the stabilization layer, only natural veneer of pine needles, mainly pine, is used.
  • Warranty. Fokus Floor products are covered by a ten year warranty.

Cons are also present:

  • The absolute disadvantage of not only Fokus Floor parquet, but also of any other wooden floor is the impossibility of installing the parquet together with the warm floor. No matter how high-quality the parquet is, with long exposure to high temperature, the board simply will not survive. In addition, the low heat transfer of the tree also does not allow to install a heated floor with parquet. This can also be attributed to the design of the floor in wet areas - from moisture, any tree will also quickly fail.
  • Sometimes in the reviews, which, in general, are almost always positive, there are complaints about some of the material's abrasions, but in case of such questions, it is best to contact the store where the board was purchased.
