Features of the drainage system Grand Line

The drainage system of the Grand Line is a whole complex that provides for the removal of moisture from the roofs and its transfer to the soil or sewage system, which, in addition to high functionality, supports the operational qualities of buildings and their aesthetic appearance. The products of this brand are well known to professional builders and are highly appreciated due to its quality and affordable cost.

Useful properties and product characteristics

The drains of the Grand Line are made of a special steel alloy, high-quality PVC with the addition of plasticizers and coloring pigments. Excellent raw materials are the basis for the quality and optimum technical characteristics of these products.

Metal parts with a galvanized surface, obtained by the cold method, have a thickness of 0.6 mm, and are additionally covered with a layer of polyurethane. Hence the outstanding properties of these systems:

  • they are resistant to various types of aggressive effects;
  • show anti-corrosion properties;
  • have sufficient strength and hardness;
  • not afraid of ultraviolet radiation.

As a result, such products can be used in various regions with an amplitude of temperatures from -60 to +120 degrees without loss of functionality. Due to the durability of the system can be successfully operated for 25 years, of which ten years retain their original appearance.

In some versions, a galvanic component in the composition of the protective layer (Aluzinc), which is able to resist corrosion and fading throughout the entire period of use, is used to protect against external influences. Such treatment gives even greater advantages, and the temperature range at which the operation of the Grand Line drains is possible, is significantly expanded (from -60 to +315 degrees).

Features of the range

The main feature of the Grand Line gutters is the combination of a clear functional purpose and external improvement of this system of engineering structures that harmoniously fit into the architecture of the building.

Varieties of systems:

  1. Grand Line - 125 mm gutter drain and a pipe diameter of 90 mm is ideal for non-standard, low-rise buildings. Due to the in-depth structure of the gutter, it drains water well under any conditions. Primary colors - white, dark brown, chocolate, green, gray, red in two shades.
  2. Grand line for large and medium high-rise buildings distinguishes a gutter diameter of 150 mm. This is a round drain with a plastic coating, such a structure provides one funnel, so the elbows and pipes for lengthening are not needed, where you can save a lot. The color range of products is white, chocolate, brown.
  3. Rohrfitmeister - These are plastic constructions, inexpensive in cost, but distinguished by good characteristics. In fact, they are made of polyvinyl chloride modified according to advanced technologies, therefore they are relevant for chemical exposure, wear-resistant, and with minor deformations can be quickly restored. The main colors of the product are brown and white.
  4. Optima - water drain systems with rectangular section of details. There are products with a polyurethane coating, the warranty period of which is one year, and galvanized structures with a warranty of 5 years.The polyurethane version is made using different colors.

Metal drainpipes of the Grand Line systems with an alumino-zinc coating, having a white trough with a cross section of 125 mm, are considered to be especially demanded.

This is due to the fact that they are preferred in the construction of private sector premises, which is rapidly expanding. Despite the fact that their service life is somewhat less, they remain popular products due to the low price.

Accessories for gutters Grand Line

Whatever system is chosen, all drains of this manufacturer are equipped with reliable reusable locks and rubber seals, and the width of pipes made of steel alloys is much thicker than that of analogs.

The Grand Line system, regardless of the type, provides for the following components:

  • chute with connector and cap;
  • funnel;
  • pipe - simple and connecting;
  • tee under the pipe;
  • inside and outside corners;
  • hooks - short and long;
  • fasteners for stone and wood;
  • knee pipe and drains.

    Drainage structures can be installed simultaneously with the roof during construction, however, if desired, they can be installed and much later, when the house is already in use.

    Installation work

    The workflow for the installation of structures does not provide for special tools, but requires strict compliance with assembly rules.

    This will help the instruction outlining the sequence of actions.

    1. Preliminary preparation includes fastening the drain to the brackets with further fixing them to the eaves. In this case, the brackets should be long.
    2. Short supports for gutters are used when the roof is already mounted, and attach them to the frontal board.
    3. The funnel is not included in the set of the drainage system; therefore, a hole is made in the gutter corresponding to the size of its diameter. For models of the Grand Line 125x90 range - this is 100-110 mm, for the products of the Grand Line 150x100 - 120-130 mm.

    Usually for the construction of the system requires the usual tools, such as a drill, screws, hacksaw, level (hydraulic), screwdriver, fishing line and rubber hammer. Since you will have to work at height, you should take care of the availability of a reliable stepladder.

    Before installing the drainage system, it is important to know the approximate volumes of the drain, as this is the main criterion for selecting the size of the funnel and the channel.

    The gutter installation algorithm is as follows:

    • Before installing the supports for the gutters, the hooks are fixed in the corners of one wall, and a slope of 5-6 mm per square meter must be checked, that is, the second bracket is fixed just below;
    • fishing line or strong thread is pulled between the supports - hooks are attached along this line at intervals of 60–90 cm;
    • for the funnel, you will need to cut a triangular hole, for reliable joining the edges are carefully cleaned;
    • with the help of an external lock, the trough is connected to a funnel, and then they are clamped by an internal fastening;
    • the groove is placed on the supports, its inner edges must be placed under the protrusion; when retracted, the fasteners will press the part and release the fastener, which must be firmly fastened;
    • the gutter system involves the elongation of the chute with the help of angular and external elements, while leaving a gap between the parts, which is filled with a sealing compound;
    • on the third of the width of the gutter, the cornice overhang is fastened and fixed; plugs with sealing rubber gaskets are installed on the edges, tamping them with a hammer;
    • two clamps are needed for each pipe, they are placed on the walls one meter apart, the drain and knee sections are additionally fixed;
    • when installing the elbow or extending the pipes, it is necessary to ensure that the outer element is facing down;
    • the last thing they do is to install the drain, expecting about 30 cm from it to the ground, which prevents splashing.

    It is possible to divert water to the site, to the well for drainage, to the storm sewers or ordinary sewers.

    To extend the life of the gutter, do not forget about the periodic cleaning of pipes and other parts from the accumulated dirt and debris. This should be done at least once a year.

    Numerous reviews of real consumers indicate that the drainage systems of the Grand Line are no worse in quality than their European counterparts and fully comply with world standards. However, unlike them, they may well be collected independently and have a democratic price.
